Kastela

Kaštela is a town consisting of seven settlements, locally called 'villages', located between Solin and Split on the east and Trogir on its west. Thanks to natural benefits such as pleasant microclimate, the vast and fertile Field of Kaštela, the beautiful Kozjak mountain on the north and Kaštela Bay on the south, this area has been inhabited since the Neanderthal era. Croats arrived in the 7th century, and it is significant to mention that on March 4, 852 in the Bijaći Hills the Croatian prince Trpimir issued a grant in which the name Croat was mentioned for the first time. The first fortress – castle (kaštel) - was built in 1476 by the Trogir nobleman Koriolan Ćipiko, and a total of 20 were built over time. Each of these seven settlements is proud of its uniqueness, and in each of them, of course, the old charming part with the castle stands out, with the traditional Dalmatian atmosphere felt at every step. Whether it is buying a property for a year-round stay or buying a holiday property, Kaštela has been known as an increasingly sought-after location for years. Apart from the already mentioned, the reason for that is certainly the fantastic marina in Kaštel Gomilica with many different accompanying facilities, the proximity of the international airport as well as slightly lower real estate prices than in Split or Trogir. The city offers many beautiful, traditional stone houses by the sea, small newly-built apartment buildings, modern villas with swimming pools as well as spacious building plots.
