Zadar

Zadar is one of the most beautiful cities on the entire Croatian coast, a true gem rich in beauty and outstanding culture. Given it was first settled approximately 3000 years ago, it is often regarded as the oldest continuously inhabited Croatian city. Zadar was considered to be the center of Eastern Mediterranean thoroughout much of Roman rule. Roman years finally formed Zadar as a city with all public amenities (forum, etc.). Zadar was also very significant in the Middle Ages thus avoiding all the usual problems of those years (great plagues or hunger). Venetian years were the times of rather significant Ottoman danger which caused an erection of now UNESCO protected city walls. However, the city received most of its features during Napoleon and following Austrian years (first newspapers in Croatian, first city with electricity distribution) when it resembled most European cities. Zadar used to be a very important industrial center, and after all the destroying it experienced during Homeland war, this town is now a beautiful, modern city big enough to have it all, yet small enough to be cosy and caharming. Moreover, Zadar was chosen by the Guardian as the most cool vacation destination back in 2018. If you're interested in buying a property in this lovely town, bear in mind that there the offer is not the same in terms of type. It is quite easy to find a new apartment in the urban parts of the city that are outside of the historic core. The same is the situation with houses and building plots as well. However, if you wish to buy a property in the very core of the town (which is indeed the most beautiful part of the city), we must say that there are not so many properties offered. When you do find something suitable, then don't miss the rare opportunity. Chances are that it will be either sold soon or the price will increase. On the other hand, those who really love Zadar won't mind finding another property – sunsets in Zadar are indeed unforgettable!
