Sukosan

Sukosan is a wonderful little town 6 km south of Zadar. Located in Zlatna Luka bay, Sukošan is indeed a true gem of Zadar Riviera. This place used to be a fishermen village, with not many people living here. Now, it is a true tourist destiation. However, it has kept its Mediterranean charm due to lovely beaches, warm locals, amazing gastronomy and peace it can offer. Historically speaking, we believe Sukosan has been continuously inhabited since Roman times. First organized touristic arrivals started occuring in the first third of 20th century, which means that people here know how to be hospitable and make a memorable stay for tourists. Sukosan is well known for its interesting evening programmes for all vacationing here. Evenings of Klapa singing (traditional Dalmatian A capella singing), Brudetijada (evenings dedicated to brudet – a traditional fish dish), Donkey races and many other, are all here to make sure you witness true Dalmatian life. The most exciting of these is „Sukošanska fešta“, a day dedicated to celebrating local patron St. Cassian with a mass and numerous parties all over the town. However, Sukosan is also more than suitable for families, since all these activities and facilities are very child-friendly. When it comes to buying a property in Sukosan, the offer consists mostly of houses since all the other properties are not very much available. Sukosan is also located in a very good position. Zadar is couple of minutes away, and Zadar airport, which connects this part of Croatia to many European destinations, is also very close. All other Dalmatian highlights such as Krka, Split or Trogir are also not far away and it takes only couple of hours to get there. Sukosan is a place of lovely beaches, so if you decide to stay put and enjoy swimming, scuba diving and long walks, you'll make no mistake.
